Hi Everybody,
I'm interested in buying and running a Hotel/Motel as an investment, but i have very little or no knowledge on how to proceed.When i put the numbers together, the business looks profitable but there might be some pitfalls or dangers that i'm not able to see superficially. Please is there anyone out there with some experience in buying and running Hotels/Motels that can help me out? Are there any seminars or Bootcamps i can attend to acquire the required knowledge? I'll like to know where to buy, when ,what size to start up with and how to obtain financing. Infact a place for me to learn the nitty-gritty of how to buy these properties profitably. Elson,
My advice... Find a couple mom-n-pop run motels, and take the owners to lunch for a brain-drain... You might need to do this several times, but becoming friends with people that have already walked down that road expedites your learning curve.
